Skate shack painting

ABOVE: Artist Jason White spends Friday morning in the fenced-in city yard area on Moss Street near the Eight Precinct building painting the skate shack that will be used for the seasonal synthetic skate rink at Spring Park as part of the Holiday of Lights activities. White said Searcy Parks and Recreation Director Mike Parsons reached out to him about the project. “The back wall is going to serve as a selfie wall where people can take pictures, and they have a hashtag #Searcychristmas There’s a little mistletoe up above where people will be standing. Hopefully, it will get people interactive with the theme.”

LEFT: Jason White said he started working on the skate shack Monday. He said he expected to finish painting the shack later in the day Friday. The synthetic ice rink at Spring Park opens Nov. 23, according to Mike Parsons. The skate shack was not painted or decorated last year.
