Back to school after ice, snow
ABOVE: Harding Academy students play outside on the first day back on campus since Feb. 10. Superintendent James Simmons said the academy had some excess days that it used during that week’s ice storm and last week’s two snowstorms, since it started classes earlier than the public schools, and then held classes virtually Tuesday-Friday.
LEFT: All of the public schools in White County remained closed to on-site classes Monday because some bus routes were unable to run due to not all roads being clear of snow and ice. Simmons said Harding Academy delayed the start of its classes by two hours. The Searcy, Pangburn, Riverview, Rose Bud and White County Central school districts had announced by 6 p.m. that students were returning to campus today, although not all bus routes were running for every district.
