Painting to a beat

Java and Jazz, a collaboration with Harding University’s Arts and Life Concert Series and Searcy Beats and Eats, was held Saturday night at Heritage Park. Beats and Eats co-Coordinator Marka Bennett said the event was 100 percent successful. “Even Dan Tepfer, world-renowned jazz pianist from Paris, France, was very complimentary of our little town and of Harding University,” Bennett said. “He had never been to Arkansas and now he loves it.” Bennett said upward of 2,000 attended the event.
