A 19-year-old has been arrested after several shots were fired early Monday on South Pecan Street, including one that struck a juvenile inside a residence, according to Sgt. Todd DeWitt, public information officer for the Searcy Police Department.
Cameron Tate Mason has been preliminarily charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, first-degree battery, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal mischief. Tate also kicked out a back window in a police vehicle Monday afternoon at the police station before being taken to the White County Detention Center to be booked.
DeWitt said that officers responded to the shots fired call at 1:24 a.m. Mason was developed as a suspect through the course of the investigation, located and arrested.
He was handcuffed and shackled in the back of the police vehicle when he kicked out the rear passenger side window while repeatedly swearing at the officers near the car in the police department parking lot.
