Rotarians hear from Searcy mayor
Searcy Mayor Kyle Osborne spoke to the Searcy Rotary Club recently about the Feb. 9 special election. Osborne said the eight-year, 1-percent sales tax will sunset soon and will not raise taxes “any more than what they are now, but if passed will allow the city to continue improvements.” The second issue to be voted on refers to the A&P tax, which will allow the Searcy Advertising and Tourism Promotion Commission to be able to issue bonds and will allow for improvements “for the new sports complexes.” The club has been serving Searcy since 1959 and meets every Tuesday at noon at the Searcy Country Club.
