Rotarians hear about plane experience

White County Sheriff Phillip Miller recently spoke to the Searcy Rotary Club about a scary moment he encountered while flying with a friend in an airplane. Miller stated the airplane had recently been serviced and repaired by a company. “We could not get the landing gear down to land, so after an hour of reading the manual, we decided to go ahead and land on the belly of the airplane,” Miller said. Miller said they later discovered that the company that did the service work had put the wrong type of grease on the gear that should have lowered the landing wheels. “Luckily, no one was injured,” Miller said. The club has been serving Searcy since 1959 and meets every Tuesday at noon at the Searcy Country Club.
