Capt. Amari Holt presented Bronze Star

On Sept. 21, Air Force Capt. Amari Holt, a 2009 graduate of Beebe High School, 2013 graduate of the Air Force Academy and native of McRae, was presented the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement while deployed to Iraq earlier this year. The Bronze Star is the fourth-highest military decoration awarded for actions in a combat zone. The medal was presented in a private ceremony held at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., where Holt is currently stationed as an ROTC instructor. Holt credits his “faith in God for helping him endure his deployment, and he is grateful for the education and mentorship he received as a high school student at Beebe.” Holt is an Air Force cyberspace operations officer with over seven years service, including tours overseas and stateside. His parents, Gary and Carla Holt, currently reside in McRae.
