Arkansas State University-Beebe will host New Student Orientation 2020: “Strong from the Start” with two opportunities for new students to participate in orientation: a virtual orientation and an online orientation. Students are encouraged to participate in both.

New students and their families can participate in the virtual orientation sessions using Zoom on Monday and Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about strategies for classroom success, student services and information technology platforms.

The Classroom Success portion will help students understand strategies for successfully starting the first semester, such as how to purchase textbooks, read a syllabus, organizational skills and time management.

The Student Services portion will focus on resources for students, including the Advising and Learning Center, Student Success Center, Campus Safety and the Registrar’s Office.

The Information Technology Services portion will demonstrate how to log in to the Vanguard Portal, access student email and Canvas, as well as the Mobile App.

New Student Orientation will be approximately one hour in length, and will include an interactive question and answer session. The Zoom link is located at: https://asub.zoom.us/my/asub2020.

In addition to a virtual New Student Orientation, all new students will automatically be uploaded to an online orientation inside their Canvas shell. The online orientation will contain the same information as the virtual orientation but will be more expansive in content. The online orientation contains video, audio and downloadable content to appeal to a broad range of learning styles. The online orientation will remain in the Canvas shell throughout students’ enrollment at ASU-Beebe.

Open registration events for new and returning students are being held Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
