The Searcy boys and girls cross country teams come into Thursday's cross country meet at Crowley's Ridge College hosted by Greene County Tech with momentum on their side.
Both teams had strong showings in Searcy's last meet on Saturday at the Cabot Panther Run.
The boys team finished in second place in the 2.45 mile race thanks to three runners in the top five.
Senior Rhett Raibley finished third with a time of 13 minutes, 23 seconds. Thomas Castaneda finished fourth with a time of 13:48 and Ethan Clark finished less than a second behind Castaneda for fifth place.
Tucker Windley finished ninth for Searcy in 14:35 and Eddie Follett was 17th in 15:12.
The Searcy girls didn't have a team score since they only competed with four runners but they also had a strong showing.
Riley Wells led the Lady Lions with a fourth-place finish in 17 minutes. She was followed by Mia Stephens who finished in 21st place at 19:49, Alexis Thomas who finished 24th with a time of 21:25 and Caitlyn Parker who finished 26th with a time of 22:12.
There was also a junior high division in the Cabot race. Searcy's top boy was Jarod Smith who finished sixth with a time of 10:29 in the 1.7 mile race and Searcy's top junior high girl was Jessica Mitchell who finished in 12th place at 12:19.
